Using a spin mop to clean your hard floors is a simple, effective way to keep your home spic and span. Of course, all that dirt and grime does a number on the mop head. The good news is that you can easily clean it in your washing machine at the end of the cleaning day. Not sure how to wash your spin mop head in the washing machine?

We designed the mop head from advanced microfiber cloth so that it not only picks up to 99% of bacteria using clean water from your floors but is also easy to clean. After all, who needs one more stressor in their day?

  1. Remove the Mop Head

The first step is to remove the spin mop head from the handle. The Casabella Clean Water Spin Mop is designed to come apart easily without any hassle. Just step on the mop head and pull the handle upward.

  1. Select the Delicate Cycle

If your washing machine has selectable wash cycles, choose delicate. Other cycles might be too aggressive and result in tangled mop fibers or even damage to the mop head itself.

  1. Add Detergent

You'll want to add some gentle detergent to the load. To help control bacteria, also add a small amount of liquid bleach to the load.

  1. Toss It in the Washing Machine

Toss the Casabella spin mop head into the washing machine, close the lid, and start the cycle. The washing machine will do all the hard work, lifting dirt and grime out of the microfiber material and then rinsing it clean.

Don’t let the mop head sit in the washer too long after the cycle finishes, though, or you risk bacteria breeding once more. Go ahead and dry it to make it a less hospitable home to those microbes.

  1. Line Dry or Lay Flat

When the washing cycle finishes, you can either hang dry your mop head (preferred) or lay it flat until it dries completely. When the mop head is dry, simply reattach it to the mop handle, and you're ready to tackle those dirty floors!

Note that air drying the mop head indoors is usually not enough. The best practice is to hang it dry in the sunshine outdoors. Otherwise, it will remain damp and help bacteria flourish.

Pro Tip: Now’s a great time to clean your bucket system! Most of the time, you’ll just need to rinse away dirt and grime that might build up inside. You should also take the time to clean the mop handle and built-in scraper. Here are a few helpful tips so you can streamline the cleaning process.

  1. Quickly separate the two-bucket system and inspect both for any signs of dirt build-up. If you spot any, rinse it under clean water. You may need to use a soft scrub brush or cloth to clean the dirty water bucket.
  2. Clean your mop handle. A damp cloth should be all you need to wipe it down from the handle to the tip. Pay special attention to cleaning near the base of the handle, as this is where the most contact with dirt and dirty water happens.
  3. Flip the mop handle over and check the built-in scraper on the mop head. Sometimes, sticky food residue and other grime can build up along the scraper's edge. You should be able to remove this easily with a clean cloth and a little "elbow grease."

Pro Tip: Clean the scraper after every use to help prevent sticky build-up from becoming a problem. In extreme situations, you may need a scraping tool to remove stuck-on debris.
