Now, it’s time to go deeper with the spring cleaning. Most find that going room by room tends to be the easiest method of deep spring cleaning. As each room is completed, it provides a sense of accomplishment. Of course, others may prefer to tackle certain types of cleaning, such as wiping down the baseboards, all at once. Ultimately, it’s up to the homeowner.
Every Home Is Different
Each home is unique and will have different cleaning needs and requirements. When putting together the list of everything that needs to be done, consider all the rooms in the home and the elements that will need to be cleaned to provide a full, deep spring cleaning.
Below are the rooms that typically need attention during spring cleaning, along with the types of deep cleaning that will often be required.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is one of the most-used rooms in the home, which means it needs a lot of attention to stay as clean as possible.
For spring cleaning, the refrigerator and freezer need to be cleaned out. Remove the food and wipe down the shelves and drawers. Be sure to clean the outside of the refrigerator from top to bottom, as well. The top of a refrigerator tends to gather a lot of dust and grime that doesn’t get cleaned regularly because it is out of sight. The Casabella Extendable Microfiber Duster and Vent Brush are the perfect tools to tackle this job.
Clean out the cabinets and wipe down all the appliances. This includes the microwave, countertop appliances, appliances kept in cabinets, the range hood, the stove and oven, and the dishwasher. Scour the countertops and the backsplash, too. Deodorize and degrease the kitchen sink. Wash down the baseboards and walls.
Finally, sweep and then mop the kitchen floor. The Casabella Multi-Surface Floor Spray Mop is a fantastic option to keep the floors looking great in the kitchen, the bathrooms, and other rooms of the home.
The Bathrooms
Clean the bathroom cabinets from top to bottom and wipe down the mirror. Clean the shower and tub using the Casabella Bathroom Spray Bottle and the Casabella Bathroom Microfiber Cloths, including the shower head and faucets, which could have soap scum and hard water accumulating on them. Clean the sink and the faucet followed by the toilet.
Scrub the walls and baseboards, as well as the tile and grout to remove grime and dirt. Sweep and then mop the floor before moving on to the next room.
The Living Room
The living room tends to be easier than many of the other rooms, as most people keep it relatively clean throughout the year. However, that doesn’t mean it won’t need cleaning. Be sure to dust the blinds and vents, windowsills, vacuum the sofa and chairs, dust curtain rods, and clean the curtains.
If there are ceiling fans, dust them and then wipe them down to remove accumulated grime. Be sure to clean the lamps and lampshades, electronics, and remote controls. Remember to wipe down the baseboards and the walls. Dust coffee tables and end tables, mantles, etc. Sweep the floor and mop, or vacuum if there is carpet.
The Bedrooms
If there are blinds or vents in the bedrooms, dust those first using a multi-angle extendable microfiber duster and then take care of the walls and windowsills. Change out and wash bedding and flip the mattress. Dust and wipe down dressers, night tables, the headboard, and any other pieces of furniture. If there are carpets, vacuum and shampoo them. If there is tile or wood flooring, sweep it clean. Mop the tile.
When cleaning the bedrooms — and other rooms of the house for that matter — remember to clean the closets, too!
The Laundry Room
Dust and dirt tend to accumulate in this room, so it will need a thorough cleaning. Clean the washing machine and dryer both inside and out. Don’t forget to include cleaning the dryer vent and lint trap. Wipe down the walls and baseboards, and then mop the floor.
