My work day was ending and on arrival home I was greeted by my wife and son and a pile of dirty dishes…..It was the day before my son’s 11th birthday, and mom baked 50 cupcakes for his classroom. After a quick hug and kiss, I wanted to get me hands dirty and tackle the dish pile in the sink - dirty spoons and utensils, frosting spattered mixer, encrusted cupcake baking tins, and sticky mixing bowls – A challenge for MenClean.
Typically I enjoy doing dishes as it is a finite chore – it has a beginning and an end. I also like putting in some “elbow grease” to get any work tension stress out of my system and to see a sparkling result in the end!
On my side today is three must have sink tools to tackle the birthday cupcake cookware –
- Sparkle scrub sponge – A unique sponge with soft scrub with a mild abrasive texture.
- Loop Sponge Brush – A must have for deep, oval shaped glass wear – soft/squeezable to fit every crevice.
- Deluxe dish drainer – Organization is crucial – the “cleans” must be separated from the “dirties” and this all-in-one system does just that.
With my adrenaline pumping, and my sleeves “rolled up” I tackled the baking sheets and tins first. With a little dish soap and the sparkle sponge, this was a breeze. The texture of the sponge creates just the lightest friction to ease the frosting/Crisco/crumbs off the cookware. Once rinsed, I placed the clean items on the dish drainer for drying.
Next challenge was the mixing bowls and glasses. For these items, I take all necessary precautions not to chip or scratch the finish. For this job, the loop sponge is a Man’s best friend. When placed inside a bowl, glass or pitcher, the sponge brush contours its shape to clean every edge and corner with minimal force. The best part of this sponge is the absorption of dish soap and “suds power” – the sponge engulfs with suds and when squeezed propels the grease fighters into action on agitation. Again, once rinsed, I placed the cleaned ware in the dish drainer for drying.
I would not be doing the Deluxe Dish Drainer justice if I did not elaborate for a minute about some of its features: deep contoured bottom for holding things such as cutting boards; utensil side holders east partition; sturdy construct with soft rubber feet that keep it steady on the countertop. The best part of this dish drain system is it has a “place for everything” which makes its easy when the time comes to put the clean utensils and cook ware in the cabinets.
They always say “a job is not worth tackling unless you have the tools to do it”. MenClean fully endorses these Casabella cleaning tool products. “No elbow grease required” and with the bright colors they are an aesthetic pleasing complement to anyone’s kitchen sink.
